I had the chance to play around with 6 of the 8 shades that are now available in Switzerland and try them out for you.
COLOUR RANGE
One thing is for sure: In this collection, L’Oréal Paris brings back some serious 90s Supermodel vibes with the rich browns and nude tones. On the other hand, some of the more „greige“ and darker tones add a touch of grunge and edginess to the colour selection. As a 90s baby and autumn lover, I have to admit that I am absolutely in love with the shade range!
SMELLS LIKE CHOCOLATE
Not only are the colours of these liquid lipsticks inspired by the many shades of chocolate, but they also smell like a chocolaty heaven of sweet delights! The smell of cocoa and vanilla bean is very intense when you first apply the liquid lipstick. A more toned-down version of the chocolate scent will linger on the entire time you are wearing it. I find the scent to be very pleasant, warm, comforting and it does even satisfy your sweet tooth - at least a little! ;)
APPLICATION
The formula is neither too liquid nor too dry. Therefore it is very easy to spread on your lips without sneakily running into the fine lines around your lips! The applicator is drop-shaped with a very pointy tip, that makes the application process very precise and easy.
Contrary to many other liquid lipstick formulas,„Les Chocolats“ are completely opaque with one swipe. The most pigmented shades of the ones I tried, are the red shade „864 Tasty Ruby“ as well as the deep brown shade „856 70% Yum“, which give the most beautiful and perfect finish with one layer - which is very impressive especially for such dark shades!!
WEARABILITY AND LONGEVITY
Although liquid lipsticks in general can be drying to the lips,„Les Chocolats“ are some of the most comfortable liquid lipsticks I have worn, because they do remain elastic, even when completely dry. They are smudge-proof, transfer-resistant and last for several hours.
